      <title>Dave gets the BLUES</title>
<description>&lt;img src="http://dlaurice.podOmatic.com/mymedia/thumb/29008/0x0_2308354.jpg" alt="itunes pic" /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I admittedly know NOTHING about what good blues music is, but was once again provoked by Tony to try my hand at it. Here I am, stepping entirely out of my comfort zone to bring you a mix and match collection of blues that have caught my ear along the way and told me "I must have that tune". If they are chronologically screwed up...I apologize. If they are lousy examples of the genre, I apologize. If some of them would not even fit into the category had I consulted a purist or two-= well, the heck with purists. What is here is in my estimation a collection of great tunes that I own because they MADE me own them, not because I went and sought them out- as always, I hope you enjoy them.
1. Baby Please Don&#8217;t Go- Big Joe Williams
2. Mad as a Man Can Be- Tal Carter
3. I&#8217;m Wild About You Baby- Lightnin&#8217; Hopkins
4. Mean Low Blues- Blues Birdhead
5. Caught- Mamie Ree
6. Sunday Morning Coming Down- Alvin Youngblood Hart
7. I Got The Whiskey- Sam Chatmon
8. Blues Hangover- Slim Harpo
9. Dust My Broom- Elmore James
10. Eyesight to the Blind- Good Rockin&#8217; Charles
11. Rosie- Dobie Red and Group
12. Jesus Gonne Be Here- Tom Waits
13. I Can&#8217;t Be Satisfied- Muddy Waters
14. I&#8217;m a Man- BO Diddley
15. Shake Your Money Maker- John Little John
16. Stagolee- Lucious Curtis &amp; Willie Ford
17. River Hip Mama- Washboard Sam
18. Tom Cat- Big Mama Thornton
19. Nobody Knows You When You&#8217;re Down and Out- Bessie Smith
20. Up and Down Blues- Robert Pete Williams

Little collection of Skinhead reggae tunes from the early years, mostly selected because I thought they sounded good, and I was trying to avoid stuff I have played before- may not seem entirely congruent, but oh well...It's all music innit?
Oh yeah- Happy Halloween too

2. Doctor Jekyll- Dave Barker and Lloyd Charmers
3. Champion- G.G. All Stars

I was driving home today and Prince Buster's voice hit me like a ton of bricks, and suddenly I was reminded of being 16 (nearly 20 years ago) and hanging out with a group of Rude Boys in my hometown. Now, for the most part, I have not seen these cats for 20 years...but I was instantly reminded of the times we had. Then it dawned on me- now shows sense August, and here was a set I could not resist.
SO- school is now in full swing, I am free'd up a little in terms of time, and here is the first set of the school year- for the Rude Boys of Palo Alto- thanks guys, I laughed the whole time I was making this- CD
1. Rude Rude Rudie- Prince Buster
2. Taller Than You Are- Lord Tanamo
3. Lawless Street- Skatalites
4. Rudie Get&#8217;s Plenty- Spanishtonians
5. The Ska Is The Limit- Rude Boys
6. Don&#8217;t Blame The Children- Lee Perry and the Sensations
7. What Can I Do- The Tartans
8. Guns Fever- The Baba Brooks Band

<itunes:summary>Got a LOT of requests this week, and I have had a great time cranking out the tunes. When I do this, I imagine you are all in my living room and we are enjoying ourselves, and the music. Always a great time.
It seems the last few or more shows were done for friends, so I figured I would do one more for my most enthusiastic listeners, both of whom I have never met face-to face. They make doing this even more fun for just that reason...soooo, a treat from the dusty rooms of Uncle Dave's house- a little more Rocksteady before I have to back for the grind- again, thank you everyone for showing up and listening-
Cheers, and ENJOY
